Right to work

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The right to work is the concept that people have a human right to work, or engage in productive employment, and may not be prevented from doing so. The right to work is enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and recognized in international human rights law through its inclusion in the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights, where the right to work emphasizes economic, social and cultural development.

Article 23.1 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights states:[1]

(1) Everyone has the right to work, to free choice of employment, to just and favourable conditions of work and to protection against unemployment.

Everybody’s Playground & Battlefield

An Aljazeera promo mentions the following ‘There’s nothing good about war except that it has ended.’

Nobody knows when this war will end. There ‘s no denying that Syria has become Everybody’s playground & battlefield, the atrocities committed against the people there leaves us horrified, shocked, ashamed & speechless. There is not a day without a heart wrenching news, image & tragedy.

The multiple forces on the ground each operating from a different sphere & to implement their agenda, seems to be at war with one another, it’s more of ‘ The war of all against one another’,  but who’s paying the real costs of such ongoing war is the ordinary Syrian,  who we also as ordinary citizens most & many times leaves you feeling helpless,  & that  you got nothing in your hands to assist them with, but to watch the ongoing & continuing  bloodbath, make prayers or at our best make donations for them.

Will we continue to watch diplomats flying across continents, meeting, having dinners & at the end of day shaking hands, giving press conferences & taking photos while smiling back to camera’s?!

The problem is they do all of the above all the time & no change seems to really happen, leaves you with the sense & reminds you of dead organizations like  ‘Arab League & the UN’!

Stockholm Syndrome & the ‘Chibok Girls’

Most of us had certainly come across this (One of the Chibok girls kidnapped by Bokoharam who then married one of those terrorist fighters, & then ran away from the terrorists with her baby, feels that she’s missing her husband?)

& I kept asking myself what’s wrong with this baby & then I said oh it’s the(Stockholm Syndrome),

“feelings of trust or affection felt in many cases of kidnapping or hostage-taking by a victim towards a captor.” Wikipedia

Those girls need mental, emotional & psychological rehabilitation which will take years & years, let’s pray for the rest to be freed from the hands of those terrorists. Their nation must create a ‘National Program’ to fix those girls minds & hearts from what ‘Boko Haram’ had done to them.

Numbers & Stories

“She’s the number?  Citizen in country X

Appearing on the news as a story in a terror attack

Later on becoming the survivor

Finally to appear again on news as a STORY,

the survivor who had survived the dangers of terrorism,

but another FIGURE who oddly died in a car accident in a peaceful country!”

For your country you are merely a number

They want to brag about

Alongside ‘MEGA NATIONS’

With 1.5 Billion citizens

Just to say hey ‘Look, we too, we’re billions!’

For a news man or woman

You’re just another story

Increasing their viewers

Keeping them under the spot!
